Should I add CGST 9% and SGST 9% while setting up the GST? If I do so, how will system calculate IGST if applicable?
In case of Events happening in India, If you are a GST compliant company, then you need to pay 18% GST as tax to the government. The GST is further divided into two parts CGST/SGST or IGST, and this depends upon the place of supply.
Explara does provide this option to setup GST for your event through the system. It also allows you to send GST invoices to the buyer on your behalf.
So while setting up your GST, please make sure that you put 18% as part of the GST. Let the system decide based on the Place of Supply whether it should charge IGST or CGST/SGST.
Avoid changing it to 9% & 9% for SGST and CGST. If you do so, all the calculations will go wrong.
